I recently attended an “Introduction to Yoga and Meditation” course at an Ashram outside Rishikesh, India. Returning home I was nervous and unsure as to how to integrate into local Yoga and so I signed up for a series of private sessions with Tegan Burger, Ubuntuyoga.
I could not have chosen a better teacher – Tegan’s understanding of and passion for Yoga is immense and infectious – and added to her caring, gentle and understanding nature the lessons were a great experience for me. I look forward to attending classes with Tegan as a teacher and I don’t hesitate to recommend Tegan to anyone wishing to further their yoga experience
As an Australian citizen, we had been working in Mozambique for the past 2 years. In October 2013, we were evacuated due to unforeseen circumstances which were very much out of our control from Mozambique to South Africa to complete our assignment. The evacuation was a quick process and and happened in less than an hour and all our belongings were left behind apart from a suitcase of clothing; we found ourselves in a very stressful situation.
I had never done or considered yoga before but felt that I had to find something to do to get my mind off the difficult situation we found ourselves in. Not knowing people in South Africa, I googled for a “home teaching” Yoga instructor and found Ubuntu Yoga which is a business owned and operated by Tegan Burger. Tegan was very prompt to respond to my enquiry and as a result of her professionalism, I decided to venture in to the world of Yoga with her as my teacher.
I have found Tegan to be an extremely nurturing, patient and generous teacher. Tegan’s enthusiasm has inspired me to explore myself and my world through Yoga. My life as a whole has been transformed into a very balanced being and by her constant challenges and motivation she has taught me to live with compassion for myself and my body. Tegan is a natural teacher and her passion for Yoga certainly has rubbed off on me! I would highly recommend Tegan to anyone wishing to explore the world of Yoga! And to Tegan - NAMASTE!
I have been practising Yoga regularly for about 5 years yet Tegan made me aware of nuances that I had not picked up on. Her body alignment and knowledge of postures is outstanding. She is wise beyond her years.
Her teaching style is very calming, theraputic and I always ended a one on one session feeling relaxed and calm.
I would not hesitate to recommend Tegan and look forward to attending classes she will teach at studios. If my finances permitted I would have her twice a week forever.
